12 towers, "floating in the air" cubes, and whimsical interior decorations... This sunflower-like pavilion is the newly unveiled Russian Federation Pavilion for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

Themed "New Russia: Cities and People," the Russian Pavilion consists of 12 towers and "floating in the air" cubes. Its design resembles an ancient Slavic village, symbolizing the flower of life, the sun, and the roots of the World Tree (a lush oak tree in Slavic mythology). The towers are composed of three colors: white, gold, and red. White and gold depict the historical image of Russian architecture, while the red background with patterns representing elements from various Russian ethnic groups breathes life into the intricate cutout portions at the tops of the towers.
